The latest in our series of conversations on regional climate action has landed! This time we’re looking at how we can protect communities in Yorkshire and the Humber from the impacts of extreme weather.
Climate change is likely to increase the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, such as flooding, heatwaves, drought and storms. This can put people’s health and living spaces at risk, particularly in vulnerable communities, and cause disruption to essential services such as electricity and water supplies.
How can we prepare for these impacts, and ensure our emergency response teams are equipped for the challenges ahead?
We've set out some ideas in our draft paper on Emergency Preparedness and Response, but we want to capture a broader range of viewpoints to help shape our recommendations for the region.
